Parental Acceptance, Parental Hesitancy, and Uptake of Seasonal Influenza Vaccination among Children Aged 6–59 Months: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This systematic review and meta-analysis summarises the literature on parental acceptance, hesitancy, uptake, associated factors of seasonal influenza vaccination (SIV) among children aged 6–59 months. Studies were sourced from following platforms: PubMed, Web Science, MEDLINE, EMBASE databases. A random-effects model was used to evaluate prevalence 95% confidence intervals (CI) SIV uptake in last flu season lifetime children. total 36 studies included for analysis. The overall 64% acceptance (95% CI: 51–75%), 34% hesitancy 22–48%), 41% 33–50%), 46% a 20–74%). Associated acceptance/hesitancy age or parents, education level, household income ethnicity, other modifiable factors, including perceived benefits, barriers, severity, susceptibility, cues action related SIV.
